The name "Hooey" refers to the knot a cowboy uses to finish tying a calf's legs together in tie-down roping rodeos. Authenticity is at the core of the Hooey brand, as the team is still actively involved in rodeo and western sports on a daily basis. We don't just believe in marketing this lifestyle, we live it.

How did we get our start? Hooey founder Joey Austin wanted to give western kids access to a more progressive brand that represented their passion and interests. After returning home from California to Texas in 2009, Joey launched Hooey with just two hat designs.
