Hooey founder Joey Austin wanted to give western kids access to a more progressive brand that represented their passion and interests. After returning home from California to Texas in 2009, Joey launched Hooey with just two hat designs. The term 'hooey' refers to the knot a cowboy uses to finish tying a calf's legs together in tie-down roping rodeos. Authenticity—the Hooey team is still involved in rodeo and western sports on a daily basis. We don't just believe in marketing this lifestyle, we live this lifestyle.
