From humble beginnings out of a spare bedroom in South Texas, we have taken pride in providing a new alternative for those who prefer a different take on the status-quo. We don't believe that, as a western brand, our designs have to lag behind trends in other markets like athletic, surf & street. The term 'hooey' refers to the knot a cowboy uses to finish tying a calf's legs together in tie-down roping rodeos. Hooey founder Joey Austin wanted to give western kids access to a more progressive brand that represented their passion and interests. After returning home from California to Texas in 2009, Joey launched Hooey with just two hat designs.
